Heat Treated Pallet Manufacturers

We have heat treatment facilities onsite for export pallets, crates, gluts and other timber products, and can provide any other wooden packaging requirements you may have for sending goods to other countries.

Wood pallets must be heat treated or fumigated in order to be imported into most countries. ‘Heat treated’ means a constant minimum temperature must be reached and maintained for at least 30 minutes, in order to rid the wood of any potential infestation before export.

Heating procedures also draw out moisture from the wood, which means the pallets themselves are a lighter weight due to the lower moisture content. This is efficient for transporting goods to foreign countries, where specific requirements for weight limits apply.

ISPM 15 Compliant Export Pallets

ISPM 15 (International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures) were developed to address the global spread of timber pests by regulating the movement of wooden packaging materials, like crates and pallets.

Our pallets meet ISPM 15 requirements, holding certification under the Australian Wood Packaging Certification Scheme (AWPCS). All heat treated wooden products are stamped with the ISPM 15 certification mark, and we can provide heat treatment certificates if required for compliance with international standards.

When working out logistics for your business needs, make purpose-built export pallets one less thing to worry about. West Coast Pallets & Crates have durable wood packaging stock available for transportation around the world.

The most common export pallet dimensions for export is 1100mm x 1100mm. However, we can custom make pallets to any sizes, configurations, or strength rating, depending on how you wish to pack your goods for transport. We can even fulfil design aspects like your company name or logo, all on site in Bibra Lake, Perth.

This applies to any of our pine and hardwood timber cases, crates, and gluts. Our range of timber products used for export are manufactured to optimise space inside the dimensions of shipping containers, making them suitable for even the longest journey.

FAQs about our Export Pallets

How does West Coast Pallets & Crates treat wooden pallets for export?

Using our onsite heat treatment method, we raise the core temperature of the relevant wood products or pallets to a specific level. This is sustained over time to kill insects and other pests that may have been in the wood.

All wood packaging to ISPM 15 level will have a stamp or mark to show it has been treated for export.

How long do heat-treated pallets last?

The ISPM 15 certification remains intact if no alterations are made to the packaging. This initial heat treatment process gets rid of any pest infestations at the time and helps protect against them in future, but it does not mean infestation will not occur if the products are altered or damaged.

If the pallets are water damaged, they may also be at risk of non-pest contaminants like mould – though the heat treatment will have helped remove moisture prior to shipping out, making them more resistant under regular conditions than untreated pallets.
